  5. Hey Sharks,

Sharing new site updates always gets us a little giddy, and this week is no different. We have tweaked our site to make your eyes happier, your broadcasts more interactive, and your listening experience more enjoyable.

    Updates:

    • New: Introducing Broadcast Leaderboards. We have all become familiar with some of the rockstar broadcasters on Grooveshark, and now we can really see how our tastemakers stack up against one another. With the ability to filter by genre and date, users can now peek at which stations are climbing the charts.

    • New: We’ve tweaked our song pages. Album art is now displayed in a large beautiful banner across the page. In addition, we’ve made “Comments” more visible, allowing you to instantly see what other members in the community are saying about the track.

    • You can now use your keyboard navigations to maneuver through the auto-complete functionality in our Search bar.
    • We’ve also made our usual bug fixes and edits to make hopping around Grooveshark even easier.

  6. It’s Friday and we have an awesome party tip for our most tech-savvy Sharks. Try using your new Chromecast device to project the Grooveshark web player right to your home entertainment system. Enjoy your entire music library in your favorite place for entertainment.

Update as of September 2014: You may still access your full Grooveshark library on Chromecast via our main site (grooveshark.com) or html5 mobile site at (http://html5.grooveshark.com/) using the ‘mirroring’ tool.

  7. Hey Sharks,

It’s our favorite time of the week, site updates! We have some new page layouts, enhanced features, and an upgrade that will make sharing songs with your friends a whole lot easier.

    Updates:

    • New: We’ve completely restructured how artist pages are organized. By default, a summary of the artist’s albums will be displayed by release date, along with their most popular songs. If you’d like to browse the artist’s entire collection of music, you can easily toggle back to the song view by selecting the “Songs” tab above the album section.

    • Now you can select from a list of Followers when sharing content on Grooveshark.

    • The scrollbar for your queue is now larger and easier to maneuver.
    • The 'Recent Broadcasts' section now displays even more of the broadcasts you have visited.

  8. Hey Sharks! Here are our updates and changes for this week.

    Broadcast:

    • We have a fancy new invite lightbox! If you’re inviting from a broadcast, you can choose your friends in this nifty ‘people selector’ area.
    • You can now delete recordings! Any recordings that you’ve created can now be removed. Look for the delete button under the recordings menu.
    • You can now follow users via the chat! You will notice a little “+” when you hover your mouse over a users name in the chat window.
    • Some of our top level genres have descriptions which were written in-house by our very own genre specialists! Check out Jazz, Country, and Ambient just to name a few.
    • Now Playing Page has been upgraded! For easier control of your queue, we have added a toolbar with options to remove or add selected songs.

And as always we have fixed quite a few bugs that you all have reported.

If you have any trouble feel free to email us at support@grooveshark.com.

  9. Good Magazine, or GOOD.IS, is a progressive online community and forum that is geared at stimulating dialogue and collaboration on matters that affect the world, for people who care about the world.

Their brand new project, Coding for Good, is an inventive fusion of online education and competitive gaming that allows anyone with internet access the opportunity to learn how to code. By developing a curriculum around the needs for their company, GOOD plans on offering one lucky pupil a full-time positon as a developer at GOOD, barring that they provide the winning final project based on the lessons they’ve learned.

GOOD teamed up with one of the Javascript blackbelts on the Grooveshark web team, Will Richardson, to lead an online video tutorial on web development. Check out the video instructional or head over to their website to see all the great things GOOD is doing.

Head over to Grooveshark.com to enjoy some tunes or visit our About page to find out how you can join our team. Check back with the Grooveshark Blog every week for exclusive updates, artist interviews, and to see more of the GOOD things our Sharks are up doing.
