1. For most of us, Tuesday borders on being the most negligible day of the week but on this particular Tuesday over 120,000 music fans, industry professionals, college radio tastemakers, bloggers, press, and musicians are gathering in NYC for the CMJ Music Marathon.

Over 1,300 artists will be performing in nearly 80 venues across the city and our good friends Quiet Company, Hundred Waters, and Conveyor will be among the amazing bands featured at this year’s event. We want to wish all three of these bands, along with the rest of the musicians and music lovers in NYC, a great time at this amazing week of music discovery.

  2. A couple weeks ago, some of our sharks ventured up to New York for CMJ Music Marathon and Film FestivalCMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival is an annual music/film festival put on by CMJ (College Music Journal) Network. It was introduced in 1980 in only a few venues around NYC as a way for industry professionals to discover new breaking artists in the college radio world. It has now expanded to dozens of venues all over NYC and Brooklyn.

The first band from our Artist Development initiative, Quiet Company, was there for the festival. We were able to capture some awesome images from their performances at the Steve Madden showcase at the Gibson Guitar Showroom in NYC and the Paste + Rdio ‘Afternoon Delight’ Showcase at the Living Room. We also got a behind the scenes look at their video shoot for their single “You, Me & The Boatman” in Long Island with BBGUN Film and Buddhatron, directed by Josh Sobel and cinematographer Alex Bergman.
